Emblation Appoints Medical Affairs Advisors

STIRLING, Scotland and LINCOLN, R.I., 6 October, 2026 — Emblation, the company behind the innovative SwiftPro® microwave therapy system, today announced the appointment of four Medical Affairs Advisors, bringing together distinguished clinicians and podiatry experts who will contribute their experience and perspectives to the company’s clinical education initiatives for its SwiftPro® medical device. SwiftPro recently received FDA 510(k) clearance for the treatment of common and plantar warts.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with these distinguished clinicians,” said Ian Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of Emblation. “Their expertise and experience will be invaluable as we continue to expand peer-to-peer educational initiatives and support the effective use of SwiftPro.”

Unlike traditional wart treatments that damage or surgically remove infected tissue, SwiftPro uses HeatBeat™ microwave therapy to alert the body’s immune system to the viral infection, helping it recognize and fight the virus naturally. As the immune response clears the underlying viral infection, the associated skin lesion is resolved as well. By contrast, traditional treatments physically destroy or excise the wart, but do so without eliminating the underlying virus, which can contribute to recurrence.

The Medical Affairs Advisors will facilitate peer-to-peer educational support, providing clinical perspectives and practical insights to help clinicians optimize their use of SwiftPro. Guidance will also be provided on the use of Swiftscope™, the companion app that enables enhanced visualization, treatment documentation and monitoring of patient progress.

Transcriptomic Profiling of Cutaneous Melanoma Metastases Treated With Microwave Ablation—Pilot Study

This pilot study assessed whether microwave energy applied directly to the skin could treat cutaneous melanoma metastases.

Seven adults whose metastases were not resolving on standard treatment received microwave therapy, and their lesions were evaluated morphologically, histologically and through RNA sequencing. Three patients showed a complete response and four a partial response. In complete responders, treatment increased inflammatory and tissue-repair genes (CXCL5, CXCL8, IL1A, COL1A1) and reduced melanoma markers (PRAME, S100B, MLANA, STK32A). Compared with partial responders, they also showed higher FABP4 expression. These findings support further clinical evaluation of microwave therapy for cutaneous melanoma metastases.

Microwave treatment of human papillomavirus-positive in vitro grown epithelial tissues results in a rapid stress-related transcriptional response and induction of innate immunity

Hyperthermia is a well-documented adjunct to cancer therapy. Recently, it has begun to gain traction in the treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-driven pathologies.

Microwaves offer a precise and targeted approach to deliver hyperthermia and are already in use in the clinic for the treatment of plantar and common warts: non-oncogenic HPV-driven cutaneous lesions.

Emblation Announces Strategic Partnership with DermLite to Assist Diagnosis and Documentation of Skin Conditions Treated by Swift Technology

Enhanced dermoscopy access now available for clinicians who are using the Swiftscope app.

Emblation, the company behind the innovative Swift® microwave therapy system, has announced a collaboration with DermLite, a global leader in dermatoscope technology. DermLite’s industry-leading dermatoscope – the DL1, will now be available via the Swift store, providing podiatrists with seamless access to advanced diagnostic tools that enhance both clinical decision-making and patient education.

Dermoscopy has long been an essential tool in dermatology and is rapidly gaining traction in other specialties, including podiatry. By enabling close examination of skin lesions, dermatoscopes provide enhanced visualization that helps clinicians distinguish between different conditions and track treatment progress with greater confidence.

“Emblation has recently introduced Swiftscope™, a lesion tracking app designed specifically for SwiftPro® users. Swiftscope integrates digital dermoscopy and smartphone technology to support comparative imaging, establish visual baselines, and monitor treatment progress over time,” said Ian Stevens, CEO of Emblation.

“The partnership with DermLite reflects our shared commitment to equipping healthcare professionals with practical, high-quality tools that improve outcomes and elevate the patient experience.”

Stevens added: “By combining DermLite’s dedication to diagnostic excellence with Emblation’s commitment to innovation we hope to expand access to dermoscopy and support clinicians’ commitment to improving standards of care.”

Emblation Launches Swiftscope App for Enhanced Visual Monitoring of SwiftPro Treatments

Emblation, the company behind the innovative Swift® microwave therapy system, announced today Tuesday 26 May, 2026 that its Swiftscope app is now available, allowing clinicians to visually track and show treatment progress

The Swiftscope™ app works in tandem with the SwiftPro® microwave device, which recently earned FDA 510(k) clearance for the treatment of common and plantar warts.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of the Swiftscope app, which provides clinicians the ability to capture and compare treatments and visually show their patients to help educate them about their diagnosis and treatment journey,” said Ian Stevens, chief executive officer of Emblation. “The addition of the Swiftscope app is part of our ongoing commitment to support clinicians and patients globally with tools that strengthen confidence, trust and clinical outcomes.”

Unlike traditional methods that can cause damage and discomfort, the company’s microwave heat therapy activates the immune system to clear skin conditions naturally, delivering better outcomes with less pain than traditional methods, and is safe and more tolerable for patients.

The Swiftscope app allows clinicians to capture consistent images of the condition, compare progress side-by-side, show patients changes at each appointment, and confidently guide patients through treatment. The app integrates with leading smartphone and iPad dermatoscopes, enabling clinicians to capture high-quality clinical and dermoscopic images with seamless documentation.

“Treating common and plantar warts can be a challenging process for patients, often requiring weeks or months of consistent treatment,” said Tracey Vlahovic, DPM, Bay Area Foot Care. With the Swiftscope app, I can show patients exactly how their treatment is working in real-time. Giving patients that visual understanding of progress from the very first appointment keeps them motivated, and it’s incredibly rewarding to hear them say, ‘I can actually see it working.'”

SwiftPro and the Swiftscope app are available in many global markets, including the U.S., U.K., and Canada. For more information visit swiftbyemblation.com.

Microwave therapy for the treatment of cutaneous melanoma metastases – A pilot study

Malignant melanoma is the UK’s fifth most common cancer, and 10–45% of people with metastatic disease develop cutaneous metastases.

These are currently managed with options ranging from cryotherapy, radiotherapy, laser ablation and electrochemotherapy to immunotherapies such as T-VEC, interleukin-2, nivolumab and ipilimumab. This study, conducted at University Hospital Southampton, tested the Swift® microwave device for treating melanoma metastases. It enrolled adults with stage IV or inoperable stage III cutaneous melanoma who had at least three cutaneous metastases and for whom alternative treatments were unwanted or deemed inappropriate.
