About Us

Emblation was founded in the US in 2007. The company was built around the founders’ core competencies gained within the medical device industry:

Product and project management
Research and development
Product development (Design for Manufacture)
Regulatory submissions (CE mark and FDA approval)
Preclinical study management
Medical Quality Systems (ISO 13485)

The company, working with the Scottish Enterprise High Growth Unit, relocated to Scotland, UK in Q1 2008 to continue its research in to novel microwave based medical devices. This research led to the successful SMART award by the Scottish Government in Q3 2008 to research the feasibility of next generation microwave sources.

Emblation moved to new premises in September 2008 to allow the development and management teams to work more closely together.

In October 2008, the Board were pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ken Lewandowski as Chairman.
